4th step - Book event managers

Booking event managers is a key decision as they will be responsible for whole events .................. There are various event managers available almost all of them offer similar services, before you decide anything pls keep the hall in mind always e.g if you want to have theme decor you need to have a bigger stage and lot of space and looks good for a crowd of 200. if you want game stalls again you need a bigger space ...if you want to put a bouncer you need a hal with sufficient height .............normally event managers guide you thru , but its better to be prepared from our side we checked about 3-4, there was about 500-1000 rs. each.We finally short listed with ShoTime - the reason being we had seen their work in one of my cousin's daughter's b'day party. There were many offers - but decided on Jungle theme decororation- with magic show and party games(as just one of them will boring ). and side stalls like tatoo, bead making , pottery , hoobla ,baloon shooting ..........................All of it costed us around 25k After the function i just heard from everyone that they had the best b'day party ever and kids had amazing time

3rd step is to book a caterer

- this may be redundant if you are doing it in a hotel /halls where flexibility with caterer is not possible. Otherwise all you need to do is to decide a menu - normally there are only two choice South Indian/North Indian. its good to have some icecream counters and chat stalls . kids will love it.we give lot of importance to food and quality of it...................there has been a trend set since my enagegemtn and we didnt want to break it for any reason :)...................Harsha wanted it to be South indian as he doesn't like buffet. I was ok with it .. It was authentic south indian food - with Two kosambari, two palya (beans & aloo fry), Anna - sambar , Anna - Saru, Pine apple gojju, chiili bonda , dahi wada , pheni & cashew burfee for sweet, curd rice and pickles ............... my mouth is watering :)v

Second Step is to Book a Hall :

Before booking a hall decide on following
what all you want to do for b'day. e.g Jsut a events or stalls you want to organise , how much space on an avg.. you would require for the same. We wanted to hold both main events and atleast 3-4 stalls. so on an avg... 20% of the hall we needed it for stalls Estimate # of people on an avg. e.g if you expect 150 guests , then a hall which can accomodate 100 shold be enough as there will be floating crowd. Decide if you want to club both b'day party and homa havana (normally they do ayushya homa for the 1st b'day). We wanted it to be sepearated so that we dont have to rush. Catering - whether any caterer is ok or you are specific , cause normally most of the party halls/hotels do not have this flexibility of bringining our caterer. We were particular about caterers and so we were looking for halls which gives this flexibility (eventually this became a decision maker ) Other things linke A/c -Non A/c , appraoch to all guest , parking space. All these are not very significant unless you are specific about them...........................Once you have clear understanding about what to look for ,go in search of halls. Normally we will know halls near by, but if you still need help you can search in google and also call Just dial - 080 69999999, they normally will give you all the information. Best ways is to just go in search of them. We did see couple of halls - Jayarama seva mandali, Sri sai party hall, Some of the Pai group halls , Samskruthi bhavan (one near South end). We short listed Jayaramaseva mandali & Samskruthi bhavan. But since Samskruthi bhavan did not give the flexibility of bringing our own caterer we settled for Jayaramasevamandali

First step : Decide on a date

First of all - decide on a date, since B'days are not relegiours functions , it can be celebrated on all days , however its good to leave out newmoon days (amavasya). Saturdays are more convinent w.r.t halls as it will be available . But keep in mind There are schools and banks are not off on Saturday. We realised it only after we started to invite. However if ur crowd is more of in IT sector and kids are in CBSE/ICSE syllabus schools , you need not worry..............Morning times are convinient if you have guests from out station and from other parts of bangalore so that they can finish the function by Noon and reach their homes by evening...............Evenings are specially better if you are planning to show some movies/Dance floors etc............we decided to celebrate it in the morning and on a saturday for simplest reason that the hall was not availble on sunday

Turning one - what to do when you want to celebrate a b'day

Turning one is one of the special day for your little ones , you just want to do eveything right. Its better to start planning as early as 2 months so that we have more choices w.rt. hall/caterer/event managers and we have lot of time to do everything ...
Some of the things that we did
  1. Decide on a date
  2. Book a hall
  3. Book caterer - decide a menu
  4. Book Event managers
  5. Start shopping for little ones and for your self and for everyone else you want to
  6. Start preparing for events - bringing gifts and things that you need for the main event
  7. Invites and invitations
  8. Start inviting
  9. order a cake
  10. Keep checking 3-9 until you are satisfied

B;day 's

Last week 26-feb ............we celebrated their b'day ...............Wondering why a delay ?..
Although they were born on 17thJan, by vedic calender tder their b;day was on 5th of FEB and they say "modalane huttida habbavanna hechchasi madbeku antha " and then due to personal reasons we could not do it in next following 2 weeks,so the only option was 26th FEB.
we just wanted to everything right ..............as this was their first b'day party......................and somehow because they are girls, we have to wait for their wedding for any celebration. (becuase for a Boy,you have more than one reason for celebration e.g. Juttu and thread ceremony etc....). Function went very well. every one appreciated it.....
